Margaret Elizabeth Jones passed away on July 9, 2014 at the age of 70. Born in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada, she is predeceased by her parents George Andrew Kemp and Betty Annable Kemp (Barber). She is survived by her husband Peter Raymond Jones, sons Peter Philip Jones (Erin) and Matthew Alan Jones (Victoria), sister Shirley Ross, brothers Donald Kemp (Lena) and John Kemp, granddaughter Maegan, grandson Gavin, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of the University of Windsor with Hon BA and taught Home Economics in Sarina and Bellriver high schools. She was a case worker for Social Services in Windsor and Brampton Ontario. Upon moving to the US, she taught English as a second language in Mebane, NC and Williamsport, PA. She was deeply involved in the Women’s groups in all the churches she attended and most recently at Dorchester Presbyterian Church as a Deacon and in the Presbyterian Women’s Group. She was an avid quilter, knitter and reader and enjoyed teaching others how to quilt and knit. She belonged to the Island Quilters, Saltmarsh Quilters, DuckDitch Quilters, Quilts of Valor, Cobblestone Quilters Guild, Quilters of SC, Think Tank book group, First Thursday book group and a Monday afternoon knitting group. A memorial service will be held 11:00 Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Dorchester Presbyterian Church, Summerville. I was so sorry to learn of Margaret’s death. She fought this cancer so long. I knew Margaret through the DuckDitch Quilters group and QSC. She was a wonderful person, and a beautiful quilter. We will miss her so much in our group. Frances
