Kristopher A. Neal passed away unexpectedly at his home in Charleston, SC on Monday, January 23, 2017. He was born in Augusta, Maine on August 06, 1971, the son of Howard Knight Neal Jr. and Margaret Rose (Look) Neal.
Kris was an accomplished ceramic artist, an outdoorsman, musician and a lover of all canine friends. He grew up in Kennebunk, Maine and attended high school there. He graduated from Heartwood College of Art in Kennebunk where he learned his foundation skills in the ceramic arts.
Kris was an entrepreneur in spirit and action. He founded Looks Point Pottery in Kennebunk and moved to Charleston to establish Fire and Earth Pottery a successful ceramic studio, online enterprise and teaching facility.
Kris was proud and generous of his knowledge of the ceramic arts. He taught beginner and advanced students at his studio. Kris was also featured on SC Public Television giving pottery classes. Those clear and expert lessons can still be viewed today on the SC PBS website.
Kris is survived by his sister Denise Neal of Flowery Branch, GA, his father Howard Neal, of Lebanon, Maine, his Aunt Elizabeth Champeon of Orrington, Maine, his Aunt Susan Howard and her husband Key Howard of Oviedo, FL,. his Uncle Joel Look and his wife Dawn of Portsmouth, NH, cousins Steven Champeon and wife Heather of Raleigh NC and Kenneth Champeon of Portland, ME. Numerous other cousins.
